REVIEW: Vegas Vacation (1997)

The Griswald’s take a trip to sunny Las Vegas so Ellen and Clarke can renew their wedding vows but in true Griswald fashion, things go very wrong.

It’s shot like a TV movie, some of the jokes are pitched squarely at pre-schoolers and the celebrity cameos are so shockingly bad it almost made me hate Wayne Newton. But it does include Ethan Embry as my favourite Rusty Griswald of the series getting mixed up with some East Coast wiseguy types when he assumes the identity of Nick Papageorgio from Yuma.

There are some quality moments, some neat references to Vacations past, liberal use of Cousin Eddie, and Wallace Shawn at his snarky best.

This is my favourite of the Vacation series, for no good reason. Now, are there any Dam questions?
